At the top of any website page, blog post, or ProPhoto gallery permalink page your design can feature a "content header", like in this example:
A content header can consist of:
- the title of the page/post being seen
- a publish date
- "meta items" like page/post...
- author name
- applied list of categories
- applied list of tags
- the number of comments for the page/post
You can enable or disable these items in any layout, and you can customize the styling & spacing of these items.
*NOTE: if your layout uses the Post/Page header module the settings below will not apply. Click to edit your header module's settings instead.
Show or hide post/page titles
Showing or hiding you post/page titles is very easy:
- Locate the WordPress Content Module within your layout, and click to edit it's settings.
- In the popup, click the Header styles tab along the side.
- Then, click the Title Appearance sub-tab and use the radio buttons in the "Post title display" area to show/hide the title.
Be aware that when using this option, it will apply to any posts/pages that are assigned to the layout you are editing. So if you have just one page that you want to hide the title on, you would want to create a unique layout and assign to that specific page. Then, in the new layout, you would edit the WordPress content module and set the page title to be hidden.
Show or hide header date, categories, or other meta items
If you want to show or hide any of the other items you can see in your content header, such as the date/time, author name or category list, follow these steps:
- Click to edit the settings of the WordPress content module found in your layout.
- In the popup, click the Header styles tab along the side.
- Click the Post Published Date or the Meta Items view to enable or disable any details you would like to show or hide in your content header for your content.
Font style of text & links
To change the styling of text or links found in your content header, follow these steps:
- Click to edit the settings of the WordPress content module found in your layout.
- In the popup, click the Header styles tab along the side and click one of these views: - Meta items (author name, categories, tags, comments count) - Title appearance (the title of the page/post) - Post published date (the date/time of the page/post)
- Each section provides a font style selector. Pick the font style you want to use. If you do not have a font style you want to apply, click New or Copy to create a new font style or to create a duplicate of an existing style that you want to tweak.
Remember that a font style can provide special color, underline, and other styling to links, so if your header links look different than you expect, check your font style to make sure the specific options for link appearance are set up the way you want.
Alignment and spacing
To change the left/center/right alignment of the title, gap between header items, or the space between the header and content, follow these steps:
- Click to edit the settings of the WordPress content module found in your layout.
- In the popup, click the Header styles tab along the side and click one of these views: - Meta items (space between the title and meta items) - Title appearance (space above & below the entire header) - Post published date (when above the title, space below the date/time)
- Each popup view provides a slider control to change spacing, and the Title appearance view provides left alignment, center alignment, or right alignment of the title. Adjust your settings for the layout and spacing you require.

Bottom border line/divider
To work with a border underneath, follow these steps:
- Click to edit the settings of the WordPress content module found in your layout.
- In the popup, click the Header styles tab along the side and click the Bottom border view.
- Enable or disable the custom border feature to show or hide the header bottom border.
- When enabled, you can set the color, thickness, style, and space below the border.
What about the content footer?
Similar settings are available for meta items like author, categories, and tags found below the content of posts. These are found in the same popup in the Content styles > Footer meta items area.
See our separate tutorial for information about the Content footer settings you can edit.
